Celebrating Connections

Four years after the creation of The Hanging Chairs, originally presented as Weaving Histories, the work evolved into a new moment titled Celebrating Connections. While the sculptural structure remained, the textiles were renewed — not just visually, but to reflect intercultural exchange and the shifting nature of those who move through the space.

Fabrics once inspired by Middle Eastern motifs gave way to textiles shaped by diverse intercultural references in colour, texture, pattern and material, echoing nomadic identities and changing ways of belonging.

Celebrating Connections reveals a space in motion, sustained by the symbolic interweaving of people and stories across time. This gesture honours the past, embraces the present, and imagines a better future.
